Billing & Subscription Guide
Everything you need to know about SnipLink billing, plan changes, and our commitment to keeping your links working forever.
Our Philosophy: Your Links Work Forever
At SnipLink, we believe that once you create a link, it should work forever. You may have shared links in emails, presentations, social media posts, or printed materials. Breaking those links would damage your reputation and frustrate your audience.
When you change plans, we use a Progressive Constraint Model:
- Your existing links always work — redirects continue indefinitely
- Your existing resources remain accessible — you can view, edit, and manage them
- New creation may be limited — if you exceed your plan limits, you cannot create new resources until you're within limits

- Complete the payment process

What Happens When You Downgrade
When you move to a lower-tier plan, here's exactly what happens:
Immediately
- Your billing changes to the new plan price
- You retain access to all your current resources
- A 14-day grace period begins
During the 14-Day Grace Period
- You can still create new resources (even above new limits)
- You can view and edit all existing resources
- We send reminder emails at day 1, 7, and 13
- This is your time to resolve any overages
After the Grace Period
- Links continue to work — all redirects remain active
- Excess resources become read-only — you can view but not edit
- New creation is blocked — until you're within limits
Resource Types and What Happens
| Resource | If Over Limit |
|---|---|
| Links | All links work. Cannot create new until within limit. |
| Workspaces | All workspaces accessible. Cannot create new links in "extra" workspaces. |
| Custom Domains | Existing domains work. Cannot add new until within limit. |
| API Keys | Existing keys work. Cannot create new until within limit. |
| Team Members | All members retain access. Cannot invite new until within limit. |
| Webhooks | Existing webhooks fire. Cannot create new until within limit. |
The 14-Day Grace Period
When you downgrade and have resources exceeding your new plan limits, we give you a 14-day grace period to resolve the situation without any restrictions.
Grace Period Timeline
Day 0: Plan Changes
You downgrade and the grace period begins. Email sent explaining the situation.
Day 7: Reminder
Halfway through—email reminder with 7 days remaining.
Day 13: Final Warning
Last day warning—take action before restrictions apply.
Day 14: Restrictions Apply
Grace period ends. Excess resources become read-only.
How to Resolve Overages
You have several options to get within your new plan limits:
- Archive old links — Move inactive links to archive to free up space
- Delete unused resources — Remove workspaces, API keys, or domains you no longer need
- Upgrade back — You can always upgrade to a higher plan at any time
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings. Your plan will remain active until the end of your current billing period, then convert to Free.
Will I lose my links if I cancel?
No, never. Your links will continue to work forever, even on the Free plan. You may just be limited in creating new links if you exceed Free tier limits.
Can I get a refund if I downgrade mid-cycle?
Plan changes take effect at the end of your billing cycle. You continue to have full access to your current plan's features until then.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and PayPal. Enterprise customers can pay by invoice.
How do I update my billing information?
Go to Settings → Billing and click "Manage Billing" to update your payment method or billing address.
